After a couple of weeks off recovering from an operation (number 2 for me this year), it is off to the Lake District this weekend towards Chapel Stile. Any ideas for an “ease back into walking” route in that neck of the woods? I know Elterwater probably has one or two, not sure I’d be up to the Langdale Pikes just yet…..We’ll see!
Thanks folks, ended up doing a round from Elterwater via Little Langdale and Skelwith Bridge, perfect recovery stroll and The Britannia is an excellent pub!
Looking forward to it now!Fingers crossed for some sunshine 🙂
Walk down to Skelwith Bridge (pint in the Britannia at Elterwater), then over to Colwith Force and into Little Langdale. Have a peek into Cathedral Quarry, another pint at the Three Shires. Several options back over into Langdale.
A corker.
Thanks guys, much appreciated! Think ELterwater and Loughrigg might be a good option!
The Cumbria way passes to the south of Chapel Stile. You can make this walk as long or as short as you wish. If you get to the Old DG or New DG you can have a beer or two and get the bus back.
Just a thought
Silver How or Loughrigg Tarn spring to mind.
